Have you ever wondered about the two enormous silver “eggs” at Newtown Creek. They have not been deposited by aliens from outer space, but are a key part of water management in New York. They are not generally open to the public but we have arranged with the Department of Environmental Protection to have an educational visit to the “eggs”
IMPORTANT - SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
We have to present the DEP with a list of those attending and ALSO completed release forms BEFORE the start of the tour. For this reason we MUST have advance registration.
We will ensure that those registering have advance copies of the release forms. Anyone not complying with this is likely to be excluded from the tour.
Please reserve a space by Sat October 8th.
THE TOUR
We will be given an educational tour of the digester eggs - this will consist of a presentation, review of exhibits and models, some "hands on activities" and a site walk through. Daily operations of the facility may change the details of the walk through tour. This is likely to take about 2 hours.
NATURE WALK
The field trip may be followed by a self guided Nature Walk after the official tour. We have allowed 1 hour for this additional tour.
COST
There is no charge for this tour.
